Charles T. (Chuck) McEnery, Born July 26, 1936 Oak Park, IL. Born to eternal life suddenly October 17, 2021. Beloved husband of Robin Gallagher McEnery, beloved son of the late Eleanor Byrnes and Eugene T. McEnery , dear brother of Gene and the late John, William and Paul. Fond uncle of numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a graduate of Fenwick H.S., College of the Holy Cross, and Loyola University Graduate School. Chuck served in the U.S. Navy as an Ensign on the Interpreter. He was a Jesuit priest for 20 years and former pastor at Holy Family Parish in Chicago. In 1973 he portrayed Pierre Marquette in the PBS reenactment of the 100 year Marquette, Joliet expedition down the Mississippi. He owned and operated a Logos Christian Book Store in Evanston. He also served on the Loyola University of Chicago Board of Trustees and was avid reader and enjoyed golf and traveling. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, (1080 W. Roosevelt Rd.) on November 5, at 3:30pm with a celebration of Chuck’s Life to follow the service in Damen Hall at Holy Family Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the America Heart Association.
