Warm and witty, with a smile and positive words for everyone who crossed her path, Barbara Isaacson will be missed by so many. She especially leaves a painful hole in the lives of her children and grandchildren. For this strong, loving Mom who guided and supported them, Anne, Ellen, Roberta, Kathleen, Barb, Dan, Christopher and Michael will always be grateful, while Chris, Dan, George, Theresa, Kathleen, and Brigit found a second mother who welcomed and appreciated them. Then as the years unfolded, Grandma Barbara fully enjoyed and celebrated the wondrous miracles of the next generation in Christiana, Peter, Carolyn, Annelise, Margaret, Michael, Ian, Robert, Nicholas, Ingrid, Libby, Luke, Kathryn, Ellen, Molly, and Tyler. Always interested and interesting, her circle included treasured siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends of all ages. Barbara was a neighborhood mainstay, walking and stopping frequently to talk or waving hello from her big front porch. She also joined her long-time high-school pals to establish INFANT, Inc., and worked happily for more than 35 years to provide help for new mothers and social service agencies. Savoring the little moments of life for a bike ride, a picnic dinner at the beach, a Manhattan made just the way she liked it, or Dean Martin crooning on the stereo, Barbara thanked God for each new day and made the years richer for those lucky enough to know her. We know she is now filled with peace and joy in union with the Lord, and we picture quite the heavenly celebration as she reunites with the love of her life, Robert, and her own beloved Mother, Anne, as well as countless other dearly departed family and friends. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a gift to the Howard Area Community Center in memory of Barbara.
