Kathie is survived by her husband Bob,her mother Elizabeth Taylor her sister Ann and brothers Ashton(Jean),Shannon and Kerry.fond aunt of Eric Taylor.

Kathie King,age 61 died January 17th, in her home surrounded by loved ones,after a 10 month battle with cancer. A certified massage therapist for 25 years,Kathie worked at Urban Oasis, the Chicago School of Massage Therapy/Cortiva Institute professional clinics,and maintained a successful practice. Kathie,along with her husband Bob recently received the first annual Massage Therapy Award for Humanitarian Services for her unselfish and compassionate approach to the profession, and her volunteer work massaging drug exposed infants coinciding with the research of Dr.Tiffany Fields of the University of Miami Medical School. Originally from Houston,Texas, Kathie was awarded the Excellence in Outreach Award from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 1994. She also edited Hands On, the newsletter of the American Massage Therapy Association for several years, and was a frequent assistant at her husbands workshops throughout the country and in Ireland.Kathie assisted training of massage staffs at several day and destination spas including Couples Resort in Negril,Jamaica. One of Kathies regular clients,Megan Solis described her work as "expertise combined with compassion and care".
