Mario A. Munoz, age 89, passed away on September 4th. Survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Julia nee Garrofe. He was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Concepcion and by his sister Mercedes. Mario was born in Havana, Cuba, and went into exile in 1963 becoming a U.S. citizen in 1968. He graduated from The University of Havana, class of '54 and took post graduate courses at The University of Wisconsin at Madison. Mario was an architect and civil engineer and worked for the City of Chicago for 24 years. His passions were photography and travel. He loved the Cubs, played golf and was a polo fan. He and his wife spent part of the winter in Wellington and Del Ray Beach, Florida. Mario and Julia were long time subscribers of the CSO and Lyric Opera. They supported the Arts and The Art Institute of Chicago by joining The Buckingham Society. Mario A. Munoz was listed in Who's Who in America since 1977. Interment Private St. Henry Catholic Cemetery, Chicago.
